Our Story
In May of 2023, Chris Thomas, our Executive Director, was sitting in his seat at the 8:30 worship service of Forum Christian Church listening to the sermon. The pastor for this Sunday was concentrating on what each and every individual person could do to advance the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 28: 19-20). As Chris sat there listening, he had an epiphany: He needed to use his love of movies to help create disciples of Jesus Christ.
Movies had always been a part of Chris’s life. He and his dad used to bond over any and all movies. He fell in love with movies so much, he started a YouTube channel called Movie Notions, where he reviewed movies. Unfortunately, life got busy and he did not have time to continue attending and reviewing movies. But the passion for movies never faded.
Fast forward back to 2023! Chris goes home after service and begins to write. No goal, no motive, just writing! Eventually he started finding ways to bring one of the most popular parables into a modern setting, The Prodigal Son. He wrote an entire screenplay and began to really believe, “I can do this.” From there, he began to research how to create a film studio and found out it could be branded as a non-profit.
